De'Aaron Fox preferred to wait rather than extend to the Kings

Two years from the end of his contract ($72 million guaranteed), De'Aaron Fox will slowly, but surely, start to think about its future. At the end of a year without playoffs, the Kings therefore have every interest in not failing sportingly, both next season and the one after that.

Because the leader still seems to have great ambitions, individually and collectively, now only seeking competitiveness at this stage of his career. Proof of this is: The Athletic reports that the All-Star preferred to wait before re-signing Sacramentoto allow time to see how the Californian workforce would take shape and therefore in which direction its franchise would go.

The good news for the Kings is that they have already satisfied De'Aaron Fox by securing the services of Mike Brown for three more years. Other good news: the expected extension of Malik Monk, as desired by his teammate and long-time friend.

Clearly, continuity seems (finally) in order in Sacramento and that's all that delights its left-handed leader with an average of 26.6 points, 5.6 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 2.0 interceptions. All that remains is to continue this momentum, and return to the playoffs, to keep it beyond the summer of 2026…
