Fans of the college championship already knew David Duke Jr. in the jersey of Providence, but the general public generally discovered him last season, when he had his chance with the Nets at the end of 2021, when the Brooklyn club, like many others, was hard hit by Covid-19 contamination.
Undrafted in 2021 before joining the Nets via a “two-way contract”, he had played 22 games with the “big boys”, compiling modest averages of 4.7 points and 3 rebounds in 15.5 minutes. His boundless energy, particularly in defence, did not go unnoticed. Once the painful episode of the health crisis had passed, he had logically found the G-League.
For his second season with the professionals, he will evolve in the same configuration since the Nets announced that they had extended him, always with a “two-way contract”.
Like last year, however, it will probably take injuries on the back lines or yet another episode of the health crisis for David Duke Jr. to really have playing time with the first team.
