David Duke Jr caught the eye of the Sixers

As the Sixers already have 15 players under contract, David Duke Jr. has very little chance of being part of the final squad, but he will still be present at training camp. No doubt to get one of the three “two-way contract” available, and thus shuttle between the G-League and the NBA.

It was thanks to this type of contract that he played 23 games last season with the Nets, and the former Providence guard had just broken most of his season and/or career records against the Sixers with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. It was April 9, at the very end of the season.

Aged 23, David Duke Jr. spent his first two seasons with the Nets for a total of 45 games, and he made a name for himself in the G-League averaging 23 points in 22 games last season. Performances which allowed him to finish in third place in the votes for the MVP.

Two-way contract : designed to create a new bridge between the NBA and the G-League, this type of contract allows each team to secure the services of one or two additional players, to develop them mainly in their development league franchise affiliated but also up to 50 games in the NBA.
