Assistant coach of the Sixers for three seasons, Dave Joerger will continue his career with Cleveland since The Athletic tells us that the former Grizzlies and Kings coach is becoming a consultant for the Cavaliers.
This is a strong reinforcement to advise JB Bickerstaff, since Dave Joeger (49 years old) still managed 492 matches and 22 playoffs, between 2013 and 2019.
We also remember that, during the 2021/22 season, alongside Doc Rivers in Philadelphia, the coach was affected by head and neck cancer. He then took time away from the team for a few weeks to heal.
In addition to his arrival in Ohio, our colleagues at The Athletic inform us that Dave Joerger will also take care of Team USA. Not for major competitions obviously, where Steve Kerr is in charge of the American selection, but in February 2024, for the AmeriCup qualifying matches.
