With the arrival of Eric Gordon, the Suns now have 15 players under contract for next season. However, as Jordan Goodwin’s contract is only partially guaranteed for the next campaign, perhaps Phoenix has not finished its maneuvers to complete its workforce.
Chris Haynes also reports that the Arizona club tested Darren Collison last week…
It’s that even though Devin Booker, Bradley Beal and Eric Gordon have already organized the game in their careers, Phoenix only has Cameron Payne and therefore Jordan Goodwin as “true leaders” in its workforce for next season.
We can therefore imagine that Mat Ishbia and James Jones are looking for a more experienced profile, even if the Darren Collison track is puzzling. Retired in 2019 for religious reasons (he wanted to focus on Jehovah’s Witnesses), the leader then flirted several times with a return to the NBA.
This finally materialized two years later, in 2021/22, with the Lakers. For in the end three anecdotal games in the NBA (1.3 points on average) and three others in the G-League (11.3 points on average).
Free agent veteran guard Darren Collison worked out for Phoenix Suns last week and had a great showing, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport. Phoenix remains aggressive in searching for complementary players.
