Danilo Gallinari in Puerto Rico… before retiring after EuroBasket 2025?

At 36 years old, Danilo Gallinari just surprised everyone by announcing to join the Vaqueros of Bayamon, Puerto Rico. It must be said that although he had finished last season with the Bucks, the Italian winger had not managed to join an NBA squad this season, even if he has not completely lost hope…

“It is with great pleasure that I prepare to take on a new important challenge in the jersey of the Vaqueros de Bayamon. I'm grateful to be able to do what I love most, playing basketball and being close to my family.” he writes like this. “I thank the club, and in particular Carlos Arroyo (club president), for their trust and for giving me the opportunity to keep the door open in the event of a call from the NBA. »

End of career in sight?

Clearly, in the event of an offer from a Grand League franchise, Danilo Gallinari will be able to terminate his contract with the club which has won the championship title 16 times in Puerto Rico.

The former winger of the Nuggets, Knicks, Hawks, Clippers, Thunder, Bucks and Pistons also suggests that he could retire at the end of the next EuroBasket 2025, while Italy is on the verge of validating its place in the competition in Group B.

“I return to the field with the excitement of a new start, but also with the hope of a great finish in “azzuro”, ready to wear the Italian jersey for one last great European adventure. »

A trip to Puerto Rico to stay in shape before his jubilee with the “Squadra azzurra”?
