Daishen Nix leaves Wolves, Tristen Newton arrives

Daishen Nix is the big loser in a little game of musical chairs operated by Minnesota and Indiana at the level of their “ two-way contract“. Injured ankle for two weeks, the former Rockets fullback, who arrived at Wolves last season will be thanked in order to give up his place to Tristen Newtonwho arrives from the Pacers.

Before getting injured, Daishen Nix was only able to play three short games with the Wolves (14 minutes in total), shining especially in the G-League (22.1 points, 5 rebounds, 7.3 assists on average over ten games). His successor Tristen Newton did barely better with his “two-way contract” at Indiana (8 minutes), even if he also distinguished himself on the lower level with 17.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists in average over 11 games, with a good 3-point skill as a bonus (41.3%).

Indiana, for its part, has already announced the name of the man who would take Tristen Newton's place as a “two-way contract” alongside Enrique Freeman and Quenton Jackson. This is RayJ Dennisplaymaker who previously played for the San Diego Clippers (G-League) also with complete stats this season (16.4 points, 6.4 assists).

Two-way contract : Designed to create a new bridge between the NBA and the G-League, this type of contract allows each team to secure the services of two or three additional players, to develop them mainly in their affiliated development league franchise but also up to 50 matches in the NBA.
