Could the Clippers have changed their minds on the Kawhi Leonard – Paul George duo? Two months ago, Lawrence Frank assured that Los Angeles would continue with this partnership, even already preparing contract extensions for the two stars, one year before moving to Inglewood.
However, our colleague Mark Stein assures that the Clippers would have given the impression to the other teams of testing the rating of Paul George during this Draft week. So the duo that the winger forms with Kawhi Leonard would no longer be as untouchable as expected.
Who could want the former Indiana, who will make $45.6 million in 2023-24 and have an optional final year after that at $48.7 million? Also according to Marc Stein, the Blazers and the Rockets could be interested.
Portland still has its 3rd choice of the Draft, which would serve as a bargaining chip with Anfernee Simmons, and we know that Damian Lillard is waiting for reinforcements. The Rockets have the 4th choice of the 2023 Draft and they are targeting superstars this summer, with their 60 million dollars to recruit, such as James Harden or Kyrie Irving.
