Clippers lose Ivica Zubac to All-Star Game

Not the last to make fun of Rudy Gobert after the Frenchman threw two “airballs” on free throws, Ivica Zubac will be able to stay on the Clippers bench. Author of his best career season, the Croatian suffers from a torn right calf, and his absence will be at least four weeks. Which means that we should only see him again after the All-Star Game, scheduled for mid-February in Indianapolis.

A hard blow for the Clippers as Ivica Zubac was valuable with his rebounding activity, his interior presence and his screens for James Harden to play the pick-and-roll. The good news is that Mason Plumlee returned to the field, and Daniel Theis arrived at the start of the season.

Last night, against the Thunder, the Plumlee-Theis pair was perfect with 23 points on 9 out of 11 shots, 13 rebounds and 6 blocks combined in 48 minutes. Enough to wait until Zubac returns.
