The Clippers didn't take long to reshape their roster after Paul George's departure. They even wrapped things up quickly, with fifteen contracts, the maximum allowed. The rest will be trades. And that's how the name of Miles Bridges arrives in the rumors.
The LA Times explains that the Clippers would be interested in the Hornets interior, who is free this summer.
To get him, it would take the form of a “sign-and-trade”. Our colleagues estimate that the management will have to give up a round of Draft in this exchange, and also players. The names of Norman Powell and Terance Mann are mentioned.
Two players with a history of domestic violence?
With his 21 points and 7.3 rebounds average last season, Miles Bridges would be a great offensive reinforcement to fill the gap for Paul George. On the moral level, however, the Clippers would find themselves with him and Kevin Porter Jr. on their roster, two players who have been brought before the courts for domestic violence.
The point guard had avoided prison after a violent argument with his ex-girlfriend, Kysre Gondrezick, who nevertheless retracted her accusations. Miles Bridges, too, did not go to prison by negotiating his sentence, but he still received a three-year suspended sentence. He had been suspended for 30 games by the NBA, including 10 last season, and his return to the court had caused unease.
Seeing the California franchise offer a second chance to Kevin Porter Jr, but also Joshua Primo, would have marked the interior, who would highly esteem Tyronn Lue and would love to play for him.
