Chuma Okeke bounces back to the Knicks

According to Hoopshypethe Knicks are about to hire Chuma Okeke16th overall pick in the 2019 draft. A former Auburn star, the power forward spent his entire early career with the Magic, including a quarterback start. Known for his defensive skills, Okeke saw his rookie contract marred by injuries, and last season, he fell out of the rotation altogether.

Given his profile, he fits perfectly with Tom Thibodeau's basketball, and he could be the 15th and final contract on the roster. Unless it's a partially guaranteed contract, and the player will have to prove himself during training camp. Perhaps in competition with other players.

A priori, with this signing, the Knicks have finished their “transfer window”. We will therefore remember the contract extensions of Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa. In terms of arrivals, in addition to Okeke, Pacôme Dediet and Cameron Payne (Sixers), it is the transfer of Mikal Bridges that has made an impression, recovered in exchange for Bojan Bogdanovic (Nets) and several Draft picks. The main loss concerns Isaiah Hartenstein, who left for the Thunder.
