Chris Duarte skips the 2023 World Cup

It is in a short message posted on his social networks that Chris Duarte revealed the news: he will not compete in the World Cup 2023 with the Dominican Republic (August 25 – September 10).

An announcement that comes only two days after the announcement of this very extensive Dominican pre-list (30 players!), where we find in particular Karl-Anthony Towns and Al Horford, expected as leaders of the selection in Indonesia, in Japan and the Philippines.

No doubt that Chris Duarte, just 26 years old and freshly transferred to the Kingswants to focus on his career in the NBA, while he remains on a 2022/23 exercise for the least delicate on the side of Indianapolis: 7.9 points on average, at 37% in shooting (including 32% at 3-points) .

As a reminder, the Dominican Republic will be in Pool A with Italy, Angola and the host country Philippines. If she finishes in one of the first two places, she will cross with the group of Serbia in the second round, to hope to join the 1/4 finals of the event.
