Chicago will be able to recruit to replace Lonzo Ball

The Bulls received a favorable response from the NBA after seeking a “Disabled Player Exception” because Lonzo-Ball, again operated on the knee, is about to miss a new full season. The league therefore granted an envelope of 10.2 million dollars corresponding to half the salary that the leader will receive in 2023/2024.

With this sum, Chicago will therefore have the possibility of recruiting an additional player in the last year of his contract, or for a one-year contract. For now, the Illinois franchise has only recruited Torrey Craig and Jevon Carter, who is also playing as point guard but will replace Pat Beverley, who left for the Sixers, numerically.

There will therefore be at least a third recruit during this offseason on the Chicago side. It remains to be seen who the Bulls will get their hands on as there aren’t masses of picks left for position 1 in the free agent market. There will then remain the case of Ayo Dosunmu, a protected free agent still not extended, to be settled.
