Charles Bassey commits to San Antonio

Cut by the Sixers last week, Charles Bassey will finally stay in the NBA since he accepted a “two-way contract from the Spurs. He does not land in unknown territory since he had spent his high school years in San Antonio. In a rebuilding team, he should thrive getting playing time under Gregg Popovich.

Selected 53rd by the Sixers in the 2021 Draft, Bassey had played only 23 games during his rookie season with an average of 3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 7.3 minutes played per game. Helmed by Joel Embiid and his linings, like DeAndre Jordan and Paul Reed, this imposing pivot has mainly played in the G-League where he has been much more efficient, turning 18.9 points and 10.3 rebounds in 17 games with the Blue Coats of Delaware.
