Celtics to discuss extension with Sam Hauser

He became one of Joe Mazzulla's favorites and, unsurprisingly, Sam Hauser will stay with the Celtics next season. The recent NBA champions have just activated their “team option” of 2.1 million dollars, as indicated by the Boston Globe.

But that's not all: our colleagues report that the winger and the leaders of Boston will shortly begin the process for an extension. Enough to lock in the future of the local sniper in Massachusetts and offer him a nice salary increase, given his good performances in recent months.

Coming off the bench, Sam Hauser is simply coming off the best season of his career: 9.0 points and 3.5 rebounds on average in 22 minutes, at a nice 42% success rate at 3-point range. Perfect for the style of basketball offered by the Celtics, in rotation of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the 26-year-old player has also proven to be valuable in the playoffs, despite a small lapse in address before the Finals.

Undrafted out of the University of Virginia in 2021, the Wisconsin native has taken a nice revenge on life and will now set out to win the double with the C's in 2024–25.
