It's a first in NBA history: a franchise will hold its training camp in the IMG Academy facilities. Located in Bradenton, Florida, it is the largest training center of sportsmen in the United States. An equivalent of the Insep, but private, and it has produced superstars like Andre Agassi, Boris Becker and the Williams sisters in tennis, but also stars of American football, golf and baseball.
In basketball, IMG Academy has become the main competitor of the famous Montverde Academy and Oak Hill Academy, and in recent years Anfernee Simmons, Zach Edey and Dwight Powell have been trained there before leaving for the NCAA.
It is therefore in these exceptional facilities that the Cavaliers have decided to carry out the start of their training camp from October 1 to 6. “The city of Sarasota and IMG Academy in Bradenton provide the perfect setting for our training camp this year.”, confirmed Koby Altmanthe president of the Cavaliers. “This is a unique opportunity for us to utilise a world-class facility away from our usual surroundings, providing an excellent setting to build team cohesion and identity.”
Let us recall that although the Cavaliers' squad has changed little, they will set out again to conquer the title with a new coach: Kenny Atkinson.
