Cavaliers not dropping Lamar

Unlike Draymond Green, Khris Middleton or Kyle Kuzma, Lamar Stevens did not have a “player option” but a “team option” this summer, for the last year of his rookie contract. Clearly, it is not the player who decides to activate it or not, but his team.

The Athletic informs us that the Cavaliers have released well this last year, at 1.9 million dollars, for the 2023/2024 season.

A hardly surprising decision since Lamar Stevens, even if his statistics remain modest, has established himself in the rotation of the Cavaliers, even picking up a few matches in the five majors this season (25) ahead of Caris LeVert or Isaac Okoro.

He brings energy and defense to JB Bickerstaff’s team and has even improved to 3-pts since joining the league. For less than two million dollars, it is therefore excellent value for money.
