The “free agency” of the Cavaliers is not necessarily spectacular, but the Ohio team had clear objectives.
The main thing was obviously to recruit shooters, the team depending too much on Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland in the field. Caris LeVert was thus extended, while Max Strus and Georges Niang arrived.
Cleveland also picked up Ty Jerome, on a two-year, $5 million deal.
The former point guard from Virginia was playing this season at Golden State, via a “two-way contract”, where he averaged 6.9 points and 3.0 assists in 18 minutes. He had played 45 games this season with the Warriors.
Enough to allow him, thanks in particular to his 39% 3-point success this season, to become the third rotation at the head of Cleveland, behind Darius Garland and Ricky Rubio.
In addition, the Cavaliers also got their hands on Damian Jones, to serve as a relay for Jarrett Allen.
Free agent G Ty Jerome has agreed on a two-year, $5 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, his agent Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports like ESPN.
