Cavaliers already extend Jarrett Allen

After having extended at a high price Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley, the Cavaliers ensure the future of the last member of their “Big Three” since ESPN announced that Jarrett Allen agreed to a three-year, $91 million contract extension. With two years remaining on his contract at $20 million per year, he's tied to Cleveland through 2029 for a total of $131 million.

Considering the contracts handed out over the past two years, this is a pretty good deal for Cleveland since Allen is a double-double specialist, a former All-Star, and pivots of his profile are very interesting. He is also coming off his best season in his career, and this extension puts an end to rumors of a possible departure to the Pelicans where his name had appeared behind the scenes. The arrival of Kenny Atkinson on the bench, whom he had known at the Nets, may have played a role in this extension.

With the Big Three extended, the spotlight will turn to Darius Garland. Will he be traded, or will he get the same type of extension? For now, the rumors about him have died down, and the Cavaliers should still be counting on him to start the season.
