Carmelo Anthony invests in Australian basketball

After Khris Middleton, John Wall and even Shawn Marion and Victor Oladipo, it is Carmelo Anthony's turn to invest in the Australian championship, the NBL. Like Kenny Smith, “Melo” will become global ambassador of the “Next Stars” program, and he is positioning himself for the creation of a new NBL team. It could be created in Sydney to compete with the Kings, whose Andrew Bogut became co-owner.

The “Next Stars” program allows “foreign” players to prepare for the NBL Draft, as was recently the case for LaMelo Ball, Josh Giddey, Ousmane Dieng and of course Alexandre Sarr, the Frenchman promised to one of the two first places in the Draft. Perhaps Melo's son Kiyan will follow this path.

Via this program, players can follow various training courses, whether on the financial level, communication, or even for the development of their own brand. While Team Ignite has been buried by the NBA, the “Next Stars” training program could prove to be the best alternative for players who wish to confront the professional world before joining the Big League.
