Can Carmelo Anthony's son play for a school other than Syracuse?

Syracuse, Auburn, USC, Florida State, Ohio State and Rutgers. These are the six schools between which Kiyan AnthonyCarmelo's son, is hesitating, and between which he will choose in the coming weeks.

Of course, even though Jim Boeheim is no longer here, everyone expects to see him join the Orange, with whom his father won the university title in 2003. But not so fast…

“Even though I know the whole world wants me to go to Syracuse, I haven't made my decision yet and I still have to talk to the coaches and go over the different details – like who else will be there, how they want me to play, how I'll be coached and things like that.”, thus tries to temper Kiyan Anthony. “So I just have to finish my visits and make a decision. I'm counting on my parents a lot to advise me and know how they think it will fit for me in these universities.”

Syracuse's training room? The Melo Center!

The 17-year-old basketball player, ranked 36th among the players likely to join the NCAA in 2025 by ESPN, assures that his parents advise him, without forcing him.

“My dad never pushed me to go to Syracuse just because his name is on the gym.” thus assures the son. “He's done so much at Syracuse. He knows I'm a different person. And at the end of the day, I just have to make my own decision.”

Perhaps he wants to avoid the pressure of his name at the New York university, since, as he says, the university's basketball teams practice every day at the Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center…

“If it’s Syracuse – I go there a lot and I train there – if that’s it, then great. But he’s never going to say, ‘You have to go to Syracuse, you have to go because I went there.’ He’s not going to force me to follow in his footsteps unless I really want to.” This is what Kiyan Anthony concludes about his future.
