Caitlin Clark: “Representing your country is what you dream of when you're a kid”

The Indiana Fever won last night against the Lynx, 81-74. This is not only the fourth victory in six games for the teammates of Caitlin Clarkbut it was also an opportunity to show Cheryl Reeve, the coach of Minnesota… and the American team, what they are capable of.

Caitlin Clark, however, alternated between good and bad during this meeting. She was notably at 1/9 and her team was behind by 7 points before starting the last quarter…

The fourth quarter, however, was the moment for the first choice of the 2024 Draft to raise her level of play. It was thus she who notably launched a 14-5 revenge of the Fever with a shot from long distance. And she would finish the last quarter, won 28-14 by her team, with 10 points and 2 assists.

Cheryl Reeve brushes aside questions

Caitlin Clark finished with 17 points at 5/17 shooting including 2/11 from afar, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and as many lost balls… A mixed performance but, facing Cheryl Reeve, the point guard did not fail to reiterate her wish to one day play for the selection at the Olympic Games.

“Representing your country is what you dream of when you are a child, » explained the Fever player. “And obviously, (Aliyah) Boston and I have the experience of playing for the junior national team, we know how much fun it is and how cool it is to wear 'USA' on your chest.”

Despite being passed over for Team USA this summer, the Olympics remain a goal for Caitlin Clark and teammate Aliyah Boston. They will once again be able to shine in the All-Star Game, which will pit a WNBA team against the U.S. Olympic team.

“It gives you a reason to work, a reason to dream. Plus, I feel like I can continue to improve and that’s my main goal and that’s what excites me the most for the future.”

For her part, Cheryl Reeve brushed aside all questions about the American selection.
