Caitlin Clark celebrates first playoffs with triple-double

Since Tuesday night, and the combined defeats of the Dream and the Sky, the Indiana Fever is assured of returning to the playoffs after an eight-year absence. And in front of their home crowd, Caitlin Clark and her teammates celebrated with a victory against the Sparks (93-86) and the rookie put on a show with her second career triple-double: 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. The crowd exploded when she grabbed her 10th rebound, 10 seconds before the siren.

“With each match, she improves a little more”, notes Christie Sidesfrom Indiana, named August coach of the month. “Every game she understands the speed and the quickness a little bit better. I love our discussions with her about the game. She's playing really well, and she had some incredible assists tonight.”

Providing entertainment for the fans

Known for her long-range shooting, Clark also became the fastest player in history to reach 100 career 3-pointers tonight. Another line in her list of achievements to go along with her Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month and Player of the Month awards.

Under her leadership, the Fever has won their fifth straight game, and it's the first time since 2015! Clark and her teammates have won seven games in eight since the season resumed after the Olympics. Even though they've qualified for the playoffs, the Fever doesn't want to relax.

“These are games that you really have to win at home,” she confides. “The more games we win, the better position we will be in for the playoffs… And then the fans spend a lot of money to come see us, and have fun with us. We want to try to give them a show every time we are there.”
