The Hawks took lightning in the first quarter by conceding 40 points. Well supported by Isaiah Stewart, Tobias Harris set the tone by getting the better of Dyson Daniels twice then shooting from the corner (18-7). Jaden Ivey and Paul Reed quickly took over the scoring, all masterfully orchestrated by Cade Cuningham already with 6 assists (31-16).
The timid responses of Trae Young weighed too little against the 3-pointers of Simone Fontecchio and Malik Beasley, who put in a layer from the start of the second quarter to give the Pistons a 24-point lead (49- 25).
Trae Young revs up
The Hawks began their revolt by passing a 13-2 fueled by the Young-Mathews pair (57-44), then a 7-0 with a dunk from Clint Capela and an alley-oop concluded by Jalen Johnson to end the first half. -time on a better note (66-53).
Trae Young increased his pressure on the opposing defense after returning from the locker room, between scoring and passing for his lieutenants Onyeka Okongwu, Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson. After resisting thanks to its Cunningham-Ivey tandem, Detroit ended up seeing Atlanta return to -3 on a 3-pointer from Jalen Johnson (88-85).
Larry Nance Jr. started the hostilities at the start of the fourth quarter with a poster dunk and a 3-pointer from the corner, and despite the repeated exploits of Cade Cunningham and the 3-pointer of Tobias Harris, Atlanta managed to equalize at 114-114, carried by an untenable Trae Young.
Cade Cunningham's double blow
In the “money-time”, Tobias Harris on 3-points and Jaden Ivey on an improbable 2+1 struck first (120-116). But Dyson Daniels' 3-pointer and Trae Young's two shots with 12 seconds left put Atlanta back in the lead for the first time in the match (120-121).
At the end of the suspense, it was finally Cade Cunningham who had the last word, finishing on the drive to add the last two points of the match then going to counter Onyeka Okongwu at the buzzer under the circle (122-121).

His finale was exceptional but it was his entire fourth quarter that allowed Detroit to hold on to finally win.
– Zaccharie Risacher discreet again. The Frenchman knew he was expected after his 33-point outing against the Knicks. Author of his team's first three points, he gradually faded away afterward, finishing at 7 points with only 7 shots attempted, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block.
