Billy Donovan will not take long to recompose its staff in Chicago after the departures of Chris Fleming, Maurice Cheeks, who is about to become manager, and Josh Longstaff, who left for the Hornets.
After having validated the arrival of Wes Unseld Jr as assistant after a very mixed first experience as coach in Washington, it's Dan Craig who is expected to join the Bulls staff as an assistant.
Dan Craig comes out of four years at the Clippers alongside Tyronn Lue where he played the role of first assistant. Before that, he spent eight years with the Heat supporting Erik Spoelstra.
Arriving at the Heat in 2003, he was first video coordinator then in charge of player development from 2012 to 2015 before becoming head coach of the Sioux Falls Skyforce G-League team during the 2015/16 season. It was only then that he joined Erik Spoelstra's staff, from 2016 to 2020.
It now remains to be seen whether Wes Unseld Jr or Dan Craig will act as first assistant coach for Billy Donovan… but also who will replace this same Dan Craig at the Clippers, where Tyronn Lue should extend his contract.
