Former teammate of Chet Holmgren and opponent of Victor Wembanyama in selection, Kenneth Lofton Jr. has still not managed to make his mark in the NBA. Having been bounced between the Grizzlies, the Sixers and the Jazz last season, the small center has just landed a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Bulls.
Even if The Athletic doesn't specify, it's nothing more or less than an invitation to the Chicago camp, and Lofton will be among the handful of players competing to land the 15th and final contract on the roster. Impressive in the G-League with his 25.1 points and 9.5 rebounds on average, Lofton lacks the size to impose himself at position 4 in the NBA.
This summer, his time in the summer league did not leave a lasting impression with an average of 6.5 points and 4.3 rebounds at 31% shooting… Voted in the G-League's best five last season, Lofton could take advantage of the absence of a power forward coming off the bench to make his mark with the Bulls. We obviously remember his 42-point, 14-rebound game in his first NBA start (in the last regular season game) with the Grizzlies, but also his 13.8 points and 5 rebounds average with the Jazz to finish last season.
