Brooklyn guarantees Royce O’Neale’s contract

A year ago, the Jazz sent Royce O’Neale to the Nets against a first round draft. The prelude has a massive rebuild with the transfers of Rudy Gobert and then Donovan Mitchell. In Brooklyn, O’Neale has taken over Bruce Brown’s role as a defensive “Swiss army knife”, and unsurprisingly, his executives have decided to guarantee his last year of contract, and he will receive $ 9.5 million next season.

After the arrivals of Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson, O’Neale lost his place in the starting five, but the management seems to be counting on him since he refused outside offers in February and June. Perhaps the franchise was waiting to validate this “team option” for its value to increase. According to New York PostO’Neale, like Dorian Finney-Smith, are of interest to several franchises with their “3-and-D” profile, and the Nets could include them in a trade by the start of the season.

Why not in a triangle exchange with the Blazers and the Heat, to recover Tyler Herro, and thus facilitate the transfer of Damian Lillard to Miami…
