Bronny James will test franchise interest in the Draft… while entering the NCAA transfer portal

Things continue to move at USC since Bronny James just announced on Instagram that he would not return to Californian college next year. LeBron James' son will thus register for the NBA Draft, without giving up his NCAA eligibility. However, he will also enter the NCAA transfer portal.

The only certainty is that the eldest son of the “King” will no longer be a Trojan in the next season.

If he ultimately decides not to enter the Draft, joining Duquesne is an option, according to ESPN. It must be said that the university is coached by Dru Joyce, former high school teammate of LeBron James. The latter had also widely shown his support for his friend and his players during the beginnings of “March Madness”.

But he can also decide to enter the Draft, depending on feedback from the franchises. He has until June 16 to withdraw his name, or not.

Interesting point: if he wants to participate in the Draft Combine or in the various “workouts” with the franchises, Bronny James will have to pass physical tests. For the 19-year-old point guard/guard, this registration for the Draft will undoubtedly already allow us to see if the NBA declares him fit to join the league, after his cardiac arrest.

Stats 2023/24: 4.8 points (37% including 27% from distance), 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists on average, in 19 minutes per game
