Brian Keefe quite satisfied with Alex Sarr's first outing

Unsurprisingly, the Wizards did not hold up against the Celtics. And Alex Sarr had a complicated first match on offense against the reigning champions, with 2 points on 1/7 shooting including 0/5 from distance, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Asked about his rookie's shot selection, his coach Brian Keefe explains that this is the plan for the Frenchman.

“He had the shots I like” replies the technician. “These are shots he made in preseason. Sometimes he will succeed, sometimes not. He managed a few actions near the circle. »

It was on an offensive rebound that the 2nd choice of the last Draft scored his first basket in the NBA. For the rest, he was mainly due to the “pick and pop”, obtaining open 3-point shots which he therefore did not convert.

On defense, Jayson Tatum welcomed him to the Big League after a one-on-one duel ended with a series of dribbles and a fadeaway which made the rounds on social networks. But for Brian Keefe, it's a bit misleading because Alex Sarr has generally done well on defensive changes.

“In terms of his defensive performance, he “switched” to very high caliber players and he did quite well against that” concludes Brian Keefe. “So I liked the way Alex played tonight. »
