The task is complicated for the Pelicans, launched in their “play-in” mission and who have just lost in quick succession their two major players, Brandon Ingram, hit in the hamstring of the right thigh, and CJ McCollum, who just entered quarantine due to Covid protocol.
To compensate, the Louisiana franchise has already announced the arrival of Tyron Wallace via a ten-day contract. The Pelicans already had a ten-day contract with Alize Johnson, but that ends this Friday.
Versatile back, Tyrone Wallace (27, 1.96m) has multiplied back and forth between the NBA and the G-League since his Draft by the Jazz in 2016, with the 60th choice. He was notably seen at the Clippers (92 games between 2017 and 2019) as well as at the Hawks during the 2018/19 season.
The player is in good shape as he averages 27 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6 assists in his last 11 games played with the Long Island Nets in the G-League.
