Bradley Beal, Suns point guard?

Even though positions tend to disappear in today’s basketball, there are still fairly clearly defined roles.

In Phoenix, Chris Paul was the playmaker, responsible for setting up the team’s attack. With his transfer, then that of Cameron Payne, there is no longer a “leader” likely to hold the Suns.

According to The Athletic, it is thus Bradley Beal, rather defined until now as a “back”, who will be the “leader” of Frank Vogel at the entrance of the next “training camp”. The team will anyway rely on several “ball carriers” capable of generating offensive actions: Bradley Beal therefore, but also Jordan Goodwin, who will be his back-up, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant or Eric Gordon.

Players that Synergy Sports defines as “scoring ball carriers” and the question is therefore how the offense is going to function without a true “creating ball carrier” in the major five.

It is especially for Deandre Ayton that the question undoubtedly arises because, in attack, the pivot of Arizona was partly dependent on the readings of Chris Paul on the pick-and-roll.
