Boris Diaw and his team of friends Biscarosse (Simon Darnauzan, Nicolas Gayon, the Beesley brothers Kevin and Cédric, Jean-Daniel Barrouillet…) achieved their goal: winning the Landes (World) Cup! It was yesterday evening, in Mont-de-Marsan, in the Plumaçon arenas, which welcomed 8,000 people for the occasion.
Including quite a few personalities (Tony Parker, Thomas Pesquet, Ronny Turiaf, Florent Piétrus and Jérôme Fernandez), who came to witness the coronation of this team of forty-year-olds, against ESMS (N2).
Having started with a 49-point lead to compensate for the seven divisions between the two teams, Biscarosse being on its side in D3, Boris Diaw and his comrades generally managed their advantage well, even if they made themselves a little fear at the end, winning by only 9 points (107-98).
They therefore “technically” lost the match by 40 points, but are indeed champions of the Coupe des Landes.
“A final is always difficult” explained the former captain of the Blues in Skweek. “ESMS gave everything. Huge respect to this team. It's very difficult to come up with so many points. They never gave up. They went until the end of the match. I am also proud of my team of forty-year-olds. Succeed in holding out to the end against the attacks of this ESMS team. We took hail from the start. We managed to hold on in the middle but in the end, the same, the breath, the lack of training, the years, the age, we really suffered. »
