Bogdan Bogdanovic makes his mark around Trae Young and Dejounte Murray

After a first discreet outing this weekend against the Nuggets to launch his season (5 points and 2 rebounds in 22 minutes), Bogdan Bogdanovic didn’t take long to gain momentum.

From his second game of the season, a defeat for the Hawks against the Thunder on Monday, the Serbian rear effectively stood out from the bench, scoring 17 points at 5/10 behind the arc, still in 22 minutes.

Entering the floor five minutes from the end of the first quarter, he was able, for the first time this season, to play alongside the pair of backs Trae YoungDejounte Murray (Trae Young had not played the game against Denver after an altercation with his coach).

The two conductors of the Hawks attack have also been constantly looking for him, and “Bogi”, who scored four of his five award-winning shots in the first period, was thus able to take full advantage of the spaces created by his two teammates to fire shots that were mostly totally open.

It was awesome. We continue to seek our bearings, to adapt to each other he said after the game. ” Did you see how many times I was open? These are the best shots. It’s always nice to play with two such intelligent point guards, who trust me. »

On fire to start the match, Bogdan Bogdanovic however had more difficulty after the break, converting only 2 of his 7 shots attempted in the second half. A clumsiness partly explained by heavy legs due to fatigue, while he is quite logically still a little rusty on the physical level.

I’m still working on my physical condition, even though I’m in pretty good shape. I thought I would have been more tired. […] But I had no more juice in my legs in the second half. All shots were short. I will just keep working he concluded.
