The major cleaning continues in Portland. With CJ McCollum going to New Orleans with Larry Nance Jr. and Tony Snell, and Josh Hart, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Tomas Satoransky and Didi Louzada going the other way, the Blazers need to free up a roster spot to validate the exchange.
And according to The Athletic, it is Cody Zeller who pays the price, the pivot going to be cut.
The end of a (very short) particularly complicated adventure for the former Charlotte in Oregon, where he was supposed to bring solidity, and defense, coming off the bench, but where he mainly visited the Infirmary.
Victim of a broken nose for his very first match in his new jersey, he was currently sidelined with a problem in his right knee, and he was not due to return until late March or early April anyway. If he returns this season, it will therefore be in another jersey, since he will now become a free agent.
The Trail Blazers are waiving center Cody Zeller, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA. Blazers needed to clear one roster spot to make room for players acquired in New Orleans trade. Zeller had surgery on his right knee on Jan. 25 and was scheduled to be evaluated 8-10 weeks after.
