Billy Donovan searches for his right arm

In a few weeks, the bench Billy Donovan got a little empty. Already with the departure of Chris Fleming, announced some time ago, then with the withdrawal of Maurice Cheeks, who wants to take a little distance from the field and could enter the offices of the Illinois franchise.

Finally with another name leaving Chicago: Josh Longstaff. The latter will join Charlotte, within the staff of the new coach, Charles Lee. The two men will meet again with the Hornets since they worked together in Milwaukee.

Even if John Bryant, who led the team in Summer League, will gain ground on the bench, the coach will therefore have to replace them. According to NBC SportsBilly Donovan is looking for a first assistant – a position that could have been offered to Josh Longstaff, had he not left – with bench experience.

We can therefore think of Kenny Atkinson and James Borrego, currently being tracked by the Lakers. Or why not Darvin Ham, fired by these same Lakers, who has long experience as an assistant in Atlanta and Milwaukee.
