Bernard King proud to see Jalen Brunson break his records

With his injury, Jalen Brunson was limited to 29 points in Game 2 against the Pacers. Enough to end his (very rare) series of four consecutive games with more than 40 points in the playoffs.

However, even if he was less present in scoring, his presence was essential for his teammates.

“When he is on the pitch, he brings calm” believes Donte DiVincenzo. “We get the right shot every time. Everyone has confidence when they are on the pitch with us. Everyone calms down and can play their role.”

This team is thus built around Jalen Brunson, particularly since the injury to Julius Randle.

Enough to allow the former Mavericks leader to break several Knicks records, including that of the number of points in a match by a New York player in the playoffs. Thus erasing Bernard King from the shelves.

“Records are made to be broken”, philosopher the latterwho had held the record since 1984. “But it's nice to have someone like Brunson breaking those types of records, with the leadership he brings, his understanding of the game and the love he has for the game. And the way the fans respond to him, it's simply wonderful. I love watching him play. So I'm delighted that it's him who breaks these records. »
