For the fourth time since his transfer to Brooklyn, Ben Simmons was back in Philadelphia. We know that the adventure between the player and the Sixers ended on a bad note and since then, the spectators at the Wells Fargo Center have clearly made him pay the bill.
As soon as he returns to town, like Friday evening, the whistles and boos are systematic. “I love being in rooms where it’s noisy, where people whistle”, did he deliver before the meeting.
He also added that “Philadelphia is like that. When I was a player there, we were whistled when we played badly. So it works both ways. They're passionate fans and that's why it's a great city and great fans.”. Words which recall those of Tobias Harris, who returned at the start of the season, under the colors of Detroit.
Two shots that don't hit the circle…
Ben Simmons did nothing to quell the boos in the Nets' loss at Philadelphia. He was particularly in difficulty with 2 points at 1/4 on the shoot in 26 minutes, with an awful +/- of -20!
Symbol of this more than average performance: his missed layup in the second quarter. The playmaker is all alone under the circle and still manages to completely miss his shot, not even touching the circle…
When Jordi Fernandez commented on this setback, he regretted that his players had “shot a lot in the foot”referring to the 19 lost balloons. “We have to pay more attention to the ball. She is precious », also indicated Ben Simmons, who lost two balls in this game.
But perhaps the Brooklyn coach also had these kinds of missed shots in the back of his mind. Because in the second half, the former Philadelphia player will also attempt a right-handed hook (while he normally shoots with his left hand) which, once again, will escape the circle and only touch the board.
