Because of the New York marathon, the Pistons took the subway

An unlikely encounter for New York subway users. As the streets of New York were blocked by the traditional marathon, the Pistons were forced to take underground transportation to reach the Barclays Center, where they faced the Nets in the afternoon.

ESPN reports that players like Malik Beasley, seen laughing with his teammates during the trip, and Tim Hardaway Jr. had no choice but to take their luggage on the subway.

This scene is reminiscent of the Cavs' visit to New York in 2017, when they preferred to take the subway to avoid traffic jams in the city. LeBron James had filmed their journey.

A few hours before the Pistons passed, the last wave of the marathon had left and more than 50,000 participants covered the 42.195 kilometers of the event. This was the 53rd edition of this legendary race which brings together more than 2 million spectators each year.

This Pistons detour was rather successful since the visitors won on the Nets floor.
