Before Victor Wembanyamathere was Tony Parker. The best French basketball player of all time started 1,151 NBA regular season games with the San Antonio Spurs, and 213 more in the playoffs. In August, his induction into the Hall of Fame capped an exceptional career.
But TP was far from being as expected as “Wemby”, number one in the last Draft. It was like a virtual unknown that he introduced himself to the Americans in 2001.
An anonymity that would quickly end. Because it only took Tony Parker five games to get his hands on the starting position.
