Beaten by Chicago two days ago, the Heat found the Bulls at the Kaseya Center and the start was very different.
During the previous meeting, the Bulls got off to a perfect start and headed towards victory. This time, Jimmy Butler and his teammates are working to cut the rhythm of Billy Donovan's players.
Miami even takes a lead of up to 15 points (39-24) at the start of the second quarter but, still deprived of Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro, Erik Spoelstra's troop lacks the resources to impose its domination. Skilled from afar, Torrey Craig and Patrick Williams allow Chicago to get back into the match at the break (58-57).
Jimmy Butler delivers a decisive effort in the third quarter but the Bulls do not give up. On the contrary, behind a great Coby White (18 points in the quarter), it was Chicago who seemed to take control of the match in the fourth quarter. The leader/back thus places his team in the lead in the “money-time”.
Except that Miami will manage to avoid a second defeat in a row, with Jimmy Butler stealing the ball from DeMar DeRozan for Kyle Lowry's counter-attack, then especially the winning shot, at the buzzer, from “Jimmy Buckets”!
WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER
– Jimmy Butler vs. Coby White. We know that Jimmy Butler loves to play the duel against certain defenders. At the start of the match, he entered his match by clubbing Coby White. And at the end of the match, when Miami did not take a time-out on the final shot, he simply played one-on-one against the Bulls playmaker, taking the shot he wanted at the where he wanted, in order to seal the victory for his team.
– The Chicago All-Stars miss the “money time”. If Jimmy Butler was able to play the hero against his former team, it is also because DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic failed to kill the match, while Coby White had nevertheless put the Bulls back in the lead. The Montenegrin missed two important shots in the final minute while the winger lost a decisive ball which allowed Kyle Lowry to equalize 30 seconds from the end…
