At 35, Isaiah Thomas attempts yet another return to the NBA

It has become a bit like the Arlesienne of NBA seasons. As in 2021, 2022 or 2024, Isaiah Thomas will thus join the G-League, hoping that this will allow him to play again in the Big League afterwards…

It must be said that the three previous times, it had worked since the pocket leader (1m75, 35 years old) had thus landed contracts with the Lakers, the Mavericks, the Hornets and the Suns following his various stints in the antechamber of the league. And no doubt he hopes that will be the case again this time.

For this, Shams Charania, from ESPNannounces that he has signed with the Salt Lake City Stars, the franchise affiliated with the Jazz, which he had already joined last season, almost at the same time.

By averaging 32.5 points and 5.3 assists over four games, the former double All-Star (2016, 2017) of the Celtics managed to convince the Suns to let him finish the season in Arizona. So he starts this process again, believing that he still has two or three years of good basketball ahead of him.

“I love the process. I love the good times and the bad times. I'm still at an age where I can still play at a high level. I always say that I feel the same going to the gym today as I did when I was a kid. I know that when this feeling goes away, it will be time to try to find something else.” he explained.
