At 32, Axel Toupane is going to discover Mexico

The disappearance of the Metropolitans had set him free, and now Axel Toupane is flying to Mexico. The fullback/winger joins the Diablos Rojos de Mexicoa year after signing with the former team of Victor Wembanyama and Bilal Coulibaly.

The French international has had a season full of pitfalls. Collectively, the Mets have only won 4 league games. Individually, Axel Toupane has also been hampered by injuries and will have only played 23 Betclic Elite games where he averaged 12.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists.

The Diablos Rojos, an expansion team

During the year, the NBA champion with the Bucks had tried his luck in 3×3 basketball. He had then joined the France group during a gathering in February, but had not managed to secure a place in the pre-selection for the Olympic Games.

Axel Toupane will join Mexico and the Diablos Rojos in a championship that has already started. His future team, promoted to the Mexican championship, is currently 5th in the standings with 10 wins in 16 games. He will stay in Toupane for a month and a half to acclimatize to the Liga Caliente LNBP before starting the playoffs in mid-October.
