While Giannis Antetokounmpo is annoyed at missing the evening of December 25, Anthony Edwards is looking forward to hitting the floor this Wednesday in Dallas. This is his first time and only the third for the Wolves, after the 2016 and 2017 editions.
“I am very, very happy. It's Christmas. I don't know how to explain it. I've never played Christmas, so I'm excited to see what it's like. I know it's going to be fun.”he expresses for Andscape.
As is often the case, it goes back to childhood. The young kid from Atlanta, born in 2001, remembers the Christmas matches he watched on television, on the WSB-TV channel, while he was deprived of the best matches on ABC the rest of the time, no not being a cable subscriber. “I could see Kevin Durant at Christmas. With my mother, my grandmother, my brother, we were all sitting watching it. It was special for us”he remembers.
It is also a reward for Minnesota, which is coming off its best season in twenty years (56 victories, a conference final) and therefore deserved to be part of the posters under the tree.
“The credit goes to the franchise, for succeeding in playing at Christmas. We made a conference final, which hadn't been done in twenty years so it's cool to be rewarded. I was waiting for this »says Anthony Edwards. “We do what we love on the day we are supposed to show love to others. So why not play basketball? This is my first chance to do it so I'm going to take full advantage of it. »
