Another almost unique performance from Tyrese Haliburton

Tyrese Haliburton took a few days to digest his magnificent run in the NBA tournament, and here he is resuming his good habits. Yet very uncertain before the match due to a back problem, the leader of the Pacers signed last night, against the Bulls, a performance as rare as it was exceptional: a double “double-double” without the slightest lost ball!

In the figures, it gives 21 points, 20 assists and 0 lost balls ! It's a career passing recordand he is only the second player in history to achieve such a performance, after Chris Paul in 2016. In history, there are only a handful to have distributed 20 or more passes without losing a ball: Kevin Porter (1978), John Lucas (1983), Rickey Green (1984) and therefore Chris Paul (2016).

He thanks his shooters

“I haven't been able to take care of the ball lately, and it's for this season that I'm happy not to have any loss of the ball,” Haliburton reacted. “And then, you don’t get 20 assists without guys putting their shots in…”

Still modest, Haliburton was immense in the 4th quarter with 8 points and 5 assists, and he was involved in 16 points in a row while the Bulls came back from -25 to -3!

“Basically, that’s what he’s been doing since he’s been here…” recalls Myles Turner, author of 24 points against Chicago. “It’s phenomenal to watch, it’s phenomenal to be a part of it. »

Glad to have gone through a complicated period

This is the 4th time this season that Haliburton has finished a game with 15 or more passes, without the slightest loss of ball. According to ESPN, no player has done so well since lost balls were counted. And as he explains, it's a performance that comes at the best time since he has been losing 4 balls per match for 15 days.

“It’s no secret that I’ve been in a slump lately,” he concludes. “It's pretty cool to feel that and realize that every player in the league has down times like this. I've never really experienced that before… It's cool to see that and learn from it. It's part of my growth as a person and as a player. »
