After becoming the first rookie since Shaquille O'Neal to string together two straight games with 20 or more rebounds, Angel Reese did even better with a 3rd game in a row! It was against the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces, and Reese finished the game with 11 points and 22 rebounds.
22 as her number of double-doubles on the season, and she equals the record for a rookie held since 2010 by Tina Charles. The absolute record is held since last season by Alyssa Thomas (Connecticut Sun) with 28 double-doubles.
A'ja Wilson beats Sky at buzzer
The first player in history to string together three games with 20 or more rebounds, Reese has done as well as Ben Wallace in 2003 for the boys, but also as well as Wilt Chamberlain in 1973!
Unfortunately, Reese's rebounding exploits did not translate into victories as the Chicago Sky loses for 3rd straight gameand it was A'ja Wilson, at the buzzer, who knocked out Reese's teammates. With 11 wins for 18 losses, Chicago remains 8th, and in position of last qualified for the playoffs, but the Atlanta Dream (10v-18d) is very close.
