Andrew Wiggins back as 6th man

After going two months without playing, Andrew Wiggins will finally find the floors! Absent for personal reasons from February 13 to April 4, the Warriors winger had decided, in agreement with the medical staff, to skip the last regular season games in order to best prepare for the start of the playoffs.

His rise to power was considered satisfactory since he was declared fit for Game 1 of the first round which will take place in Sacramento this Saturday. The former Wolves player should be able to play 20 to 25 minutes off the bench.

“We watched Andrew this week on scrimmage. Much like Andre Iguodala, he’s one of his players who feels like they’re never out of shape. He never looks tired. He really has great athletic ability, with his size and wingspan. It can have impact in many ways. He looks really fit. He has improved in physical condition over the week,” said Steve Kerr.

Almost full staff

Last qualified directly for the playoffs in the West, the Warriors take advantage of a short week of training, preparation and rest to attack the defense of their title as well as possible. Their coach is more than happy to be able to take advantage of one of his major elements again, an essential part of his system.

“Having Andrew Wiggins and Gary Payton II, it changes the dynamic of the team, athletically and because they fit nicely into the puzzle. It’s great to have at least this opportunity, to be there and to have our chance. That’s all we wanted” concludes the coach.
