This looks like one of the most atypical victories of the season. Celtics. Deprived of two starters (Jaylen Brown and Derrick White), and with managers resting in the last act, the locals found a way to win on the wire (101-100) against the Kings by a De'Aaron Fox unleashed.
The last gesture was signed by an unexpected actor, Xavier Tillman, who, with a “floater”, gave his team the advantage again seven seconds from the end. A shot synonymous with a winning basket, since neither De'Aaron Fox, Keegan Murray or Colby Jones were able to respond during the final possession.
The Celtics ended with a “funny” evening during which they were up to 19 points ahead. Really solid defensively after 12 minutes (27-15), the C's seemed calm for a good part of the first period. But the Californians, a bit more skillful behind the arc, will still manage to return to the locker room with only two possessions behind (54-50).
De'Aaron Fox all out in the finale
Before finding themselves in difficulty again in the third act, during which the Celtics widened the gap, around ten points.
With very good sequences of play, where the ball passed from the post with Kristaps Porzingis, to come out towards one of the few shooters in form of the team, Payton Pritchard. On a free throw, Oshae Brissett offered the biggest advantage for his team six minutes from the end (98-79). We thought the Kings were finished, but not at all. De'Aron Fox still had enough gas to overtake the entire opposing defense.
Untenable in penetration, including right hand, the leader will even allow himself to convert at 3-points… with the board 26 seconds from the end, to restore the advantage to his team. Unfortunately for him and the Kings, Private Tillman had his say.
WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER
– Holders at rest. With 9 minutes left to play with a 14-point lead, Joe Mazzulla released Jayson Tatum to offer rare minutes to Jordan Walsh. The leader of the Celtics will not return to the game despite the Kings' return to the score. Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday and Al Horford will not even enter the fourth quarter. Despite the rest of the executives and the absences, victory is at hand for the Celtics. “ It's good for the team chemistry, these kinds of moments. And seeing Joe all excited on the sideline was really cool. It's a good victory for us “, liked Kristaps Porzingis.
– Sam horror. For his 11th start of the season, the shooter experienced a terrible evening of clumsiness. Despite many good positions, he failed, failed and insisted, insisted. With on arrival, ratios to send shivers down your spine: 1/13 by far, which fueled the Celtics' little evening of skill in the field (12/44), for a 1/18 in total in 36 minutes. He had never taken so many shots in a match in his career. Needless to say, he had never missed that many either…
