An expected first for the Thunder in Montreal

It’s been seven years since the Thunder played an official match on the road. For the first time, this “export” will take place within the framework of the NBA Canada Series, and therefore in Canada. As with Charlotte or Detroit for the NBA Paris Game, this choice is far from being a coincidence since two of the best Canadian players play in Oklahoma City, Shai Gilgeous Alexander And Luguentz Dort.

The meeting will be particularly rich in emotions for Lu Dort who is from Montreal North and will therefore be at the center of this meeting. The rear of the Thunder is a model of success for all local youth. As such, he had received, along with the Raptor Chris Boucher, the city’s medal of honor.

“After growing up and learning to play basketball in Montreal, it will be a special experience to play a preseason game in my hometown. Canada and Montreal are some of the best basketball fans in the world, and I can’t wait to hit the Bell Center floor.”, said Luguentz Dortcurrently training for the World Cup with Canada, which will start against France on August 25.

If the Canadians shine in Asia, these NBA Canada Series in stride will necessarily be a little more followed.
