On November 3, 1995, the Raptors were making their NBA debut and, heading into what will be their 30th season in the league, the Canadian franchise has revealed a new anniversary logo.
” We're always looking to the future, working toward our next title, but seasons like this are a good time to look back on our franchise's history and the incredible things we've accomplished together, with the support of our fans, our organization and our ownership. ” thus declared Masai Ujirithe president of Toronto. ” Our Rookies of the Year, our many All-Stars, our incredible All-Star Weekend and, of course, our title, which brought fans together across the country and even the world… Let’s celebrate those moments, as we look to win more in the decades to come.. »
Regarding this logo, we still find a dinosaur claw on a basketball, with the number “3” which is grafted onto the whole to form the number “30”, in reference to the 30th season of the franchise, obviously.
In the press release, a certain Vince Carter is notably mentioned (in connection with the 25th anniversary of his legendary Dunk Contest…) and we could imagine the retirement of his number 15, after years of waiting. He who will be entitled to this honor with the Nets, in addition to entering the Hall of Fame and being present on the cover of the next NBA 2K.
