AmeriCup: After the rain, Team USA strikes down Venezuela

Team USA was finally able to complete its match against Venezuela. Interrupted by rain, which had caused leaks at the Geraldo Magalhães Sports Gymnasium in Recife (Brazil), the match was able to resume at half-time.

The score was thus already 48-21 when the United States and Venezuela resumed their duel, and the formation of Alex Jensen (assistant in Utah) did not go into detail by finally winning 101 -49!

Craig Sword finished as the match’s top scorer with 19 points, helped by Anthony Lamb (15 points), Norris Cole (12 points) or Frank Mason (12 points).

With this very, very big success, Team USA even recovers the first place of the group, despite its inaugural loss against Mexico. Indeed, the United States, Mexico and Venezuela finished in a three-way tie.

Now it’s time for the quarter-finals, tomorrow, where the United States will play Puerto Rico.
